Patent Licensing is a process in which you transfer all the rights of your patent to another person other than the right to transfer the patent further. In simple words, in patent licensing you basically allow another person to use, manufacture and sell your invention in market.  

Patent licensing is useful in cases where you don’t have proper funds to manufacture and sell your invention on a large scale. This further helps in limiting your risk as you wouldn’t have to care about getting your business off the ground. Further licensing is more beneficial than selling your patent to someone else as in licensing you receive royalty regularly. 

However, finding a right buyer for your patent is a difficult and time consuming task. Further, negotiating the terms of the licensing agreement can be tricky.
